Granada is a city in southern Spain's Andalusia region, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is known for magnificent examples of medieval architecture dating back to the Moorish occupation, most notably the Alhambra. This sprawling hilltop fortress complex includes royal palaces, serene terraces and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife Gardens.
