The rainforests of the Amazon

The Amazon rainforest in Brazil is an incredible travel destination.

The Amazon rainforest in Brazil is the largest above-water lung on Earth for humanity and our collective most important access to oxygen produced above the water surface. The other 80% is produced by microorganisms in the oceans around us.
So it is a giant natural machine, which unfortunately is still getting smaller in step with brutal deforestation. Brazil also does not have tropical forests and the sad thing is that the country's coastal forests have been reduced to only 5% of what they have been.
But there are still huge areas to see of the tropical Amazon rainforest, and perhaps, or quite certainly, it is one of the great experiences of your life to take in a jungle of this size, global significance and beauty. A little background.

The area is 6.9 million km² and makes up over half of the earth's remaining rainforest areas. The forest covers areas in 9 different countries and has given names to states or provinces in 4 of these countries.

Which countries contain the forests of the Amazon?

The majority of the rainforests are steamers in Brazil , with 60% of the rainforest, followed by Peru with 13%, Colombia with 10%, and with smaller amounts in Bolivia , Ecuador , French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. Four nations have “Amazonas” as the name of one of their first-level administrative regions, and France uses the name “Guiana Amazonian Park” for its protected rainforest area. The Amazon represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforests and encompasses the largest and most biodiverse tract of tropical rainforest in the world, with an estimated 390 billion individual trees divided into 16.000 species.

The two rivers Rio Solimões and the Rio Negro unite in the most beautiful way in the colossal Amazon River, which is already at the branch 10 kilometers wide and must go all the way to the Atlantic Ocean with huge bodies of water. The whole trip is 6400 km and the river passes on its journey French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Truly a journey worthy of the world's largest river.

Around this great river an unimaginably large rainforest was formed "in the dawn of time". The actual water from the two rivers that meet is yellow from Solimoes and pop black from Negro (not unexpectedly the name taken into account) and each shows its own colors miles before they end up in marriage forever: Amazon. The Amazon rainforest is formed in the fertility of the Amazon River over millions of years and we jump back to the present.

The climate in the Amazon is warm and humid, remember a raincoat

The climate in the Amazon rainforest is typically tropical with very hot and humid weather both day and night (the definition of tropical climate is min. 20 degrees at night always). It is really wet here all year round, although you can define a "drier" time between April and September. It is not necessary to look comfortable, but with the right clothes, such as a rainproof poncho, and equipment worth it all. When we are at the perhaps negative factors, then the risk of wildlife and diseases is close to absent if you travel in a group with a recognized guide and have taken the pills and got the vaccinations required.
